What we do with your data.
Last updated 30 June 2026
Short version: The Extrudix app collects nothing about you. There are no accounts and no servers, and your printing data stays on your devices in plain files you own. We never see it. The only data that exists at all is anonymous website analytics, which Google collects and we only see in aggregate, plus anything you choose to send us by email or the feedback form, plus the ordinary connection details any web request exposes when the app downloads its catalogs. This page explains those few cases and your rights under European (GDPR and UK GDPR), United States (including California), and Canadian (PIPEDA) law.
01 Who is responsible
Extrudix is published by Ronet Software LLC, a Wisconsin limited liability company ("Ronet Software," "we," "us," or "the developer"). We do not gather data about you ourselves. For the limited data that does exist, described below and mostly collected by third parties like Google on our behalf, Ronet Software LLC is the data controller under data protection law.
You can reach us about anything in this policy at support@extrudix.com. Where the law requires us to provide additional identifying details of the controller to handle a request, we will provide them to you directly when you contact us.
02 Your printing data stays with you
Everything you create in Extrudix, your filament, printers, jobs, parts, maintenance records, projects, photos, and settings, is written as plain CSV and JSON files to a folder you pick on your device or in your own cloud storage.
Extrudix does not run a backend. None of this data is sent to us, and we have no way to read it, copy it, or recover it for you. You can open, back up, move, or delete those files yourself at any time. Because this data never reaches us, requests about it are handled by you directly through your own files and storage provider.
03 Cloud folders you choose
If you point your working folder at iCloud Drive or Google Drive, your files sync through that provider so they reach your other devices. That sync happens between you and the provider under their own terms. We are not part of it and still cannot see your data.
- iCloud is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Google Drive is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
If you use local storage only, nothing syncs anywhere.
04 Catalogs and demo data
The app downloads its built-in filament, parts, and printer catalogs from a public GitHub repository so they stay current, and it downloads a sample dataset when you turn on Demo Mode. These are one-way downloads of public files. Extrudix does not send any of your data along with these requests.
As with any web request, the host (GitHub) can see standard connection details such as your IP address. GitHub's handling of that is covered by the GitHub Privacy Statement.
05 Camera and photos
Extrudix uses the camera only when you choose to scan a barcode, and the scan is processed on your device. Nothing from the camera is uploaded. Photos you attach to a job or project are saved into your own folder alongside the rest of your files.
06 Purchases
Any in-app purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your name, card, or billing details. Apple shares only aggregate sales and download figures with us, which do not identify you. Apple acts as its own controller for payment data, covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.
07 This website and cookies
The Extrudix website uses Google Analytics so we can see basic traffic, such as how many people visit and which pages they land on. The data is collected by Google, not by us. Google sets cookies and gathers usage data like approximate location, browser, device type, and a truncated IP address. We only ever see anonymous, aggregated reports. None of it is tied to anything you do inside the app, and we cannot identify you from it.
In Europe and the UK, these analytics cookies are only set with your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time by clearing cookies or using the opt-out below. Elsewhere we rely on your ability to opt out. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, by blocking cookies in your browser, or by enabling a Global Privacy Control signal, which we honor where required. See the Google Privacy Policy for details.
08 Feedback and contact
If you fill out the feedback form, it is a Google Form, so what you submit is processed by Google and sent to us. The community lives on the r/Extrudix subreddit, hosted by Reddit under Reddit's Privacy Policy. If you email us, we keep that message and your address so we can reply and follow up.
09 What data exists, and why
To be clear, the app itself gathers no data about you, and we run no servers that could. The only personal data connected to Extrudix is the following, and most of it never reaches us:
- Website analytics (approximate location, device and browser, truncated IP, pages viewed). Collected by Google, not us; we see only anonymous aggregates, used to understand site traffic. Legal basis: your consent in Europe and the UK, and our legitimate interest in running a functional website elsewhere.
- Anything you choose to send us (your email address and whatever you write in an email or the feedback form), used only to answer you. This is the one thing that actually reaches us, and only because you sent it. Legal basis: your consent and our legitimate interest in responding to you.
- Catalog and demo downloads (connection details visible to GitHub when the app fetches public files). Seen by GitHub, not sent to us. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in providing the app's core functionality.
We do not use any of this for advertising, we build no profiles, and we make no automated decisions about you. All of it is optional. If you do not want analytics, opt out; if you do not want to message us, you do not have to.
10 How long we keep it
Analytics data is retained according to our Google Analytics configuration, then deleted or kept only in aggregated form that does not identify you. Messages and form responses are kept for as long as needed to handle your request and a reasonable period afterward, then deleted, or sooner if you ask. Your in-app data has no retention period set by us because it lives only in your own files.
11 Sharing and international transfers
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. The only third parties involved are the service providers named above: Google (analytics and forms), Apple (purchases and iCloud sync you choose), GitHub (catalog hosting), and Reddit (community). Each acts under its own privacy policy.
These providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where data is transferred out of the European Economic Area or the UK, those providers rely on safeguards such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses. We ourselves do not export your data anywhere, because we hold almost none of it.
12 Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you have some or all of these rights over personal data we hold about you:
- Know and access what we hold and how it is used.
- Correct data that is wrong or incomplete.
- Delete data we hold about you.
- Portability, getting a copy in a usable format.
- Object to or restrict processing based on legitimate interest.
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting what came before.
- Opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information (note: we do none).
- Non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights.
To exercise any right, email support@extrudix.com. It is free, and we will respond within the time the law allows (within one month under GDPR, within 45 days under California law, extendable where permitted). We may need to confirm your identity by matching your request to the email address we already have. You may use an authorized agent where the law allows, and we may ask for proof of their authority.
13 United States and California
We do not sell or share personal information, and we have not done so in the past twelve months, including for residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and other states with privacy laws. We do not knowingly process the sensitive personal information of any consumer for purposes that would trigger a right to limit its use.
The app does not collect personal information. The only categories that may be gathered, and only through Google Analytics on the website, are identifiers (a truncated IP address, plus your email address if you choose to contact us) and internet or other electronic network activity (pages viewed). These are gathered for the business purposes described above and kept only as long as set out in section 10. California residents have the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. Submit a request to support@extrudix.com.
14 Canada
For users in Canada, we handle personal information in line with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). We gather only what is described here, with your knowledge and consent, use it only for the stated purposes, and protect it with reasonable safeguards. You may request access to or correction of any personal information we hold about you by emailing support@extrudix.com.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle a concern, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
15 Europe and the United Kingdom
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the GDPR and UK GDPR apply, and the rights in section 12 are yours. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In the EEA, you can find yours through the European Data Protection Board. In the UK, that is the Information Commissioner's Office. We would appreciate the chance to address your concern first, so please consider emailing us before you do.
16 Children
Extrudix is a tool for 3D printing enthusiasts and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly gather personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area and the UK). If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
17 Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with an updated date at the top. Significant changes will also be noted on r/Extrudix.
